[Aly and Jacob are watching a movie together at Aly's house. Jacob sits comfortably next to Aly.]
Jacob: What do you think so far?
Aly: Eh it could be better.
Jacob: I have to agree with you on that.
Aly: I mean, it's the typical cliche. Boy meets girl, boy falls for girl, and boys gets the girl in the end.
Jacob: The nerve of these directors.
Aly: Exactly. [she grins]
Jacob: So what's next?
Aly: You pick this time.
Jacob: Ummm....another movie?
Aly: That's what I meant. You choose the next movie.
Jacob: How about The 40 Year Old Virgin?
Aly: Perfect choice.
Jacob: I know.
[Aly smiles at him and gets up to put the dvd in.]
Jacob: So what else is up?
Aly: Nothing too special.
Jacob: Tell me about it.
Aly: I've just been really bored lately. Karli hasn't been around in the past few days.
Jacob: Where has she been?
Aly: Just been busy with other things I guess.
Jacob: I'm sorry. I'm here.
Aly: Thanks Jacob.
Jacob: Anytime.
Aly: I really like this. Us hanging out. It's nice.
Jacob: It really is.
Aly: So how come you don't have a girlfriend?
Jacob: No one's been interested before. What about you?
Aly: Waiting for the right one to come along I guess.
Jacob: Ah I see.
Aly: Yeah.
Jacob: So I got tickets to see Panic! At the Disco. Wanna go?
Aly: Are you serious? I love them.
Jacob: So do I.
Aly: I can't believe this. They're such a cool band.
Jacob: They're awesome. I've seen them once before.
Aly: Really?
Jacob: Yeah so we'll go together.
Aly: You have made my day. No, more like year.
Jacob: I'm glad.
Aly: When is the concert?
Jacob: Two weeks.
Aly: Great. I'm really excited now.
Jacob: So am I.
Aly: Dodger is gonna be so jealous.
Jacob: Is she?
Aly: I think she will. We like most of the same bands.
Jacob: We could try to get another ticket.
Aly: You think you could get one?
Jacob: Yeah. My friend is a ticket broker.
Aly: Nice.
Jacob: Yeah. She has to go though.
Aly: Oh ok.
Jacob: Should we invite anyone else?
Aly: If you want to.
Jacob: What about Nathan?
Aly: Sure.
Jacob: You think he'll go?
Aly: He probably will.
Jacob: What's going on with him lately?
Aly: I don't know. We haven't talked in a couple days.
Jacob: What about Karli?
Aly: If all of us are going, you know she'll want to.
Jacob: True but I meant what's going on with her and Nathan?
Aly: I didn't know that anything was going on with them.
Jacob: I thought there was? There's not... hummm maybe I misunderstood.
Aly: I guess you did.
Jacob: Yeah... probably. I miss everything.
Aly: Don't feel bad. It's the same way with me too.
Jacob: Then I guess we can miss stuff together huh? [he puts his arm around her smiling]
Aly: It's fine with me. [smiles back]
[Aly and Jacob spend a few hours talking and watching movies as the scene fades out. The next day, Aly shows up at Karli's place and knocks on the door. Karli answers the door smiling]
Karli: Hey.
Aly: Hey stranger.
Karli: I'm sorry that I was in Paris.
Aly: Ah don't worry about it. Can I come in?
Karli: Of course. So what's up?
Aly: I wanted to catch up on things.
Karli: Well I'm glad you're here.
Aly: I am too. [she places her purse down on the table] I've been hearing things about you and Nathan.
Karli: What kinds of things? [looking at her confused]
Aly: I'm not too sure. Jacob just mentioned something about the two of you, but I think he heard wrong.
Karli: I haven't spoken to Nathan since I left.
Aly: Ok that's what I thought. I know you would tell me if something was going on.
Karli: Why do you think Nathan likes me or something?
Aly: I don't know.
Karli: You should find out for me.
Aly: I'll try, but you know how Nathan is with secrets.
Karli: You can crack him. So anything happen with Jacob?
Aly: No, we're just friends.
Karli: That sucks.
Aly: I can't really picture us as a couple. I mean, we've known each other for such a long time.
Karli: Those are the best kind.
Aly: You think so?
Karli: Duh!
Aly: Jacob doesn't think of me like that.
Karli: How do you know?
Aly: I just do. I think I would know if one of my best friends liked me. You can tell those kinds of things.
Karli: I know guys.
Aly: Well what do you know about Jacob?
Karli: That he's perfect for you.
Aly: Right. Then Nathan must be perfect for you.
Karli: How do you figure?
Aly: If you use the whole friends thing with me and Jacob, then you it goes for you and Nathan as well.
Karli: Nathan is different.
Aly: How so?
Karli: He's not like me at all. He's well arrogant and full of himself.
Aly: What? That's not true.
Karli: Really? Since when?
Aly: I've never thought that Nathan was arrogant.
Karli: You're joking right?
Aly: No.
Karli: He is towards me.
Aly: Maybe he's just trying to show off or something.
Karli: You think?
Aly: Yeah. I'm sure of it.
Karli: Good to know.
Aly: I've missed this. Us hanging out and talking about our guy problems.
Karli: Me too. Remind me not to go away as often.
Aly: Will do.
Karli: [laughs] Or you come with me next time.
Aly: I'll keep it in mind.
Karli: [she smiles] So what's next?
Aly: I don't know about you, but I am starving.
Karli: Me too.
Aly: You have anything good or should we get take out?
Karli: Take out is good.
Aly: How about chinese? I'm dying for some sweet and sour chicken.
Karli: You got it.
Aly: Great.
Karli: Wanna order it?
Aly: Nah you go ahead.
Karli: [picks up the phone and orders the food then hangs up] 20 mintues.
Aly: Alright. So are you doing anything tonight?
Karli: Not really.
Aly: Well we can make it girls' night. No boys at all.
Karli: I like that idea.
Aly: It's a date. [laughs]
Karli: Definately.
[They laugh again and wait for their takeout to arrive as the scene fades out]
thanks sara!
Jacob: What do you think so far?
